(a ∈ R) is called ‘’Base’’

m, n (m, n ∈ R) are called ”Exponent/Index”

1. am × an = am + n
2. am ÷ an = am – n
3. a= 1, where a ≠ 0
4. (a . b)= am × bm
5. ( a⁄ b )m = am⁄ bm
6. (am)n = (an)m = am × n     [ Note :  (am)n ≠ (a^mn) ]
7. am 1⁄ am
8. If am = bm, then a = b
9. If am = an, then m = n
10. √a = a1/2
11. ∛a= a1/3
12. If am = b, then we can write it as a = b1⁄m
